TRADITIONAL ORTHODONTICS

What is it?
Orthodontic treatment aims to correct misaligned teeth and bite issues. Traditional orthodontics not only enhances appearance but also ensures proper alignment, facilitating effective dental restorations and normal speech, swallowing, and chewing functions.
When is it necessary?
Causes of misalignment and bite issues can vary:
- Early tooth loss due to trauma or decay.
- Individual teeth misalignment due to space constraints in the dental arches.
- Skeletal bite anomalies.
- Genetic predispositions.
- Habits like thumb-sucking or mouth breathing.
Procedure Steps:
- Comprehensive Examination: In just 30–45 minutes, the dental care specialist conducts a digital dental assessment, computed tomography, lateral cephalogram, and orthodontic protocol photographs.
- Decision: After evaluations, the orthodontist provides a treatment plan during an in-person or remote consultation, including estimated duration and cost.
- Treatment Plan: A detailed dental correction plan is presented to the patient, visually demonstrating the entire treatment process.
- Treatment Initiation: The longest visit, lasting 60–90 minutes, where the dental care specialist and orthodontist begin the treatment.
- Treatment Maintenance: Visits are scheduled approximately every 1–3 months. During these visits, the dental care specialist performs 3D scans and other assessments, while the orthodontist evaluates progress and provides remote recommendations.
- Treatment Completion: Upon successful treatment, it’s recommended to have professional oral hygiene every 6 months. Additionally, preventive check-ups are assigned as needed.
