DETAILED DENTAL CONDITION EXAMINATION

What is it?
A comprehensive dental examination is a dental procedure where a specialist thoroughly assesses the patient’s teeth and oral health. This examination includes a visual inspection of the teeth, evaluation of the gums, assessment of the oral mucosa, and, if necessary, additional diagnostic tests such as radiographs. After the examination, the dentist can provide recommendations for further treatment or preventive measures to maintain optimal oral health.
When is it necessary?
A detailed dental examination is recommended every six months to maintain optimal oral health. However, it is essential to perform this examination when the patient experiences pain, discomfort, or notices oral health issues. This procedure helps in early detection and treatment of oral problems.
Procedure Steps:
- Initial Assessment: During the first visit, the dental care specialist listens to the patient’s expectations and complaints, evaluates the current dental condition through an examination, and recommends necessary tests.
- Examinations: In the same visit, a comprehensive dental examination is performed using digital dental scans with an intraoral scanner, and additional radiographic tests are conducted.
- Evaluation of Results: After completing all necessary tests, the dentist evaluates the results and provides constructive conclusions. Along with the examination results, treatment recommendations are provided. The dentist may also suggest a consultation with another specialist (e.g., oral surgeon, orthodontist, prosthodontist).
